NEW AICA BOARD ELECTED

Late last year, a new Board was elected to spearhead AICA's strategic directions and governance over the next year.  The new AICA Board of Directors is as follows:

Chairperson – Tiga Bayles - Brisbane Indigenous Media Association

Ngaanyatjarra Media

Ngaanyatjarra Media is a thriving indigenous-owned media organisation supporting 15 remote

communities in the Western Desert region of Western Australia.

Ngaanyatjarra Media is based in Irrunytju (Wingellina) Community where our regional Media and

Communications Centre is located.

Ngaanyatjarra Media is the only service provider of its kind in the region and has naturally expanded

through the extension of programs and the growing demand for its services and products, in particular

its vital role in preserving the Ngaanyatjarra culture in various media forms. The organisation has a strong

history of yarnangu ownership and participation in its programs, and has a good knowledge of community

needs and aspirations. Ngaanyatjarra Media maintains a close working relationship with Ngaanyatjarra Council

and its constituent communities, Shire of Ngaanyatjarraku and all agencies working in the region.

It is a not-for-profit Indigenous organisation with Public Benevolent Institution status.
